It’s that time again! I’m doing another survey, and things might get controversial, which I’m stoked about!
If you’re a missionary/global worker of any kind, (whether current or former) I want to hear your story. Specifically around your experiences with your Sending Organization/Church/NGO. This is your chance to rate your sending organization (Exciting huh?) This can be your current org or a previous one (just please specify.) I want to build some transparency and accountability around what organizations are doing member care and missions really well, and which ones need to take a look under the hood. This data will come from you: the people who’ve served under them. Don’t worry- your response can be anonymous.
I know it can be scary to share your story (maybe you’ve never told anyone) maybe you feared no one would believe you, or you feel shame around “failing,” or you feared retribution, but gather your courage and give voice to your experience because others need to hear it. Maybe you think your story is unremarkable because it was good or neutral–Great! I want to hear that story too because I want to see who’s taking care of their people well. We want a balanced view of what is happening in the member care world. So please be honest and share with anyone you think needs to be a part of the dialogue.
Let this one young woman’s voice fill you with courage. Maybe your story is different than hers, maybe it’s similar. Maybe you can be a pioneer for reformation.
If you’re a sending org (Sorry, not sorry- I’m not trying to create any enemies here) this data should help you improve upon what you already have going or begin a conversation around much needed transformation. Either way, we’ll know more than when we started.
(**Survey results will be published here on this blog in a follow up article)
